In some cases the sitters and I have put together background elements that are especially meaningful to the subject and indicate some of the sitter's special interests. If we can discuss the concept of the portrait, I am sure that we could jointly arrive at exactly the right tone to convey your wishes. I would, of course, be delighted should an oil portrait commission materialize; the size and cost of which we can determine on that occasion.

My normal arrangement is to come with my photographer and spend approximately an hour taking photographs of the subject. If there is to be an elaborate background the session will take an additional hour. When the photographs are completed, we then collaborate on selecting the material that will serve as the basis for the painting. I then work on the portrait in my studio in North Salem and later require a final sitting of three hours, preferably in my studio, but it could also be at your location. I can also paint the portrait entirely from life in my studio or on location, and depending on the size of the portrait and medium, it would take approximately three to seven sittings of three hours each. I require a one-third deposit to reserve my time and the finished portrait is usually completed within three months.

The framing is not included. All of my work is completely guaranteed and the posing process is always very pleasant.
